Overview

A small growing region located in the Northeastern corner of the peninsula near the Dolomite mountains, Alto Adige has long been regarded as Italy's premiere growing region for top quality white wine. Taking advantage of the high elevation and unique microclimate of the Sudtirol, winemakers here are skilled at crafting a wide variety of wines that are capable of accentuating the distinctive character traits of each grape variety. These are wines of rich personality, wines that boast a complex minerality that outshines other parts of Italy.

Committed to low yields and high quality, the estate has expanded rapidly to encompass some twelve hectares of vines across the gravelly and clay soils of the Eisack valley and Uberrestch. Sustainable farming is employed in the steep terraces, and the wines produced represent an impressive blend of the area's great white wines and historic red varietals. Of particular note is the Pinot Noir, officially billed using the historic name in the Sudtirol - Blauburguner.
