Overview

Located in Switzerland’s Northeastern corner, German-Speaking Switzerland is the country's third largest wine region. Sharing a border with Germany, Austria, and the Principality of Liechtenstein, the region’s 2,650 hectares of vines are spread across a confederation of sixteen wine-growing cantons. These are typically grouped into three regional sub-zones.

Tucked into the Easternmost sub-zone, AOC Graubunden has viticultural traditions that are truly ancient. Winemaking arrived with the Romans and was fostered over subsequent centuries by the Catholic Church and its monasteries. Today, there are nearly 3,000 vignerons who lovingly tend small plots of vineyards across the zone.

The company’s Swiss wine production began in 1948 with the cultivation of Pinot Noir in vineyards owned by the Archdiocese of Chur. Today, some twenty - hectares of prime vineyards are spread across the AOC (with key plots in the famous villages of Maienfeld, Malans, Trimmis, and Chur). Awarded a Gold Medal in 2017 for  “Switzerland’s Best Pinot Noir ”, the winery has become one of Graubunden’s largest and most important producers.
